Slottsholmen (On land)

Project (2018-07-17)

Slottsholmen is a project that was initiated by composer and instrumentalist Björn Ulvaeus and that includes a marina, restaurant, conference centre and condominium apartments on the island where the ruins of Stegeholm Castle are to be found.

Mod Architects designed the Slottsholmen apartments, conference centre and restaurant with its pavement café running along the quay with views of the inlet from the Baltic.

The choice of materials for the interior surfaces is based on a text written by Björn Ulvaeus that deals with his native town and environs relating adventures and memories. Genuine materials from quarry, factory and shipyard have been used throughout, like Misterhult mahogany granite, massive oak, and details with roots in Gunnebo.

In the main building there are ten suites, all with different character and with a view of the water

The building, with its shifting colours of brickwork was designed by architects Sandellsandberg.
